From the CATO CITIZEN Thursday, May 30,1940, her daughter Ethel and husband William Thatcher and their daughter Mary were in Lyons on Sunday for a visit.

From THE RED CREEK HERALD Thursday October 3, 1940, she fell on Monday (Sept 30) and dislocated her shoulder. She was taken to Barber Hospital in Lyons to have it x-rayed.

From THE CATO CITIZEN, Thursday October 17, 1940, she had returned from Barber Hospital and was at the home of Mrs Hasingager who would care for her during the winter.

She died in Lyons after a long illness. She was born in Savannah and lived her entire life in Savannah and Butler.

Think she may have lived in Newark, NY with her son Dudley for a while before she died.

According to her obituary in the Troy New York Times she had lived in Troy for 31 years, so she would have lived there since 1890. She died at her residence at the Sage Building at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She had been ill for a short time. Early Saturday evening she became ill due to pneumonic conditions. She attended St. Francis Church and was active in parish affairs. She was a member of the Rosary Society.

Obituary has her name spelled Katherine. Died unexpectedly at her home in Lyons, New York on Sunday (January 31, 1960). She was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Lyons and a member of its Rosary Society. Officiating at the funeral was Rev. Charles Drumm (her sister Margaret’s grandson). She was buried in Rural Cemetery.

From the OSWEGO DAILY TIMES, Monday Evening, October 12, 1908 she won the newspaper contest with 180,852 votes beating her cousin Etta who had 95,016 votes in the District 4 contest. She also won the overall contest for the West Side of the Oswego River for which she won a $400 Ivers and Pond piano.

From the CLYDE, N. Y. TIMES, THURSDAY, OCT. 22, 1908, announcement in her old hometown that the former little Clyde girl, now living in Oswego, won a piano in a newspaper contest. She had also previously won a fine gold watch a few weeks prior to winning the piano.

The Dockstader family: Descendants of Georg Dachstätter, Palatine emigrant of 1709, who settled in the Mohawk Valley of New York book says she was born Feb 6, 1904 in Oswego. Looks like this info came from her sons John and Robert Bond which could be wrong.

Her obituary says she was born in Savannah, Wayne County, NY, not Clyde, NY. She and her husband were living at 263 West Fourth St, Oswego, NY at the time of her death. She died at Oswego Hospital at 1:30 on Saturday morning after an illness of but a few days. She was educated in the schools in Oswego, was a communicant at St. John’s Church. She was a graduate of Oswego Hospital and was employed as a visiting nurse for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

Buried in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

From the UTICA HERALD-DISPATCH, MONDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 24, 1919 wedding announcement he was living at 1003 Miller St., Utica, New York. Married at St. John’s Church in Utica, New York. Attendants – Harriet Kulow (bride’s sister) and Thomas Moore of Whitesboro. They left on a trip to include points of interest in the East. Would be living in the Kanatenah apartments on their return. The bride is in charge of the children’s department at G. R. Kinney Company and the groom is a salesman there as well. He had lived in Utica for 2 years at this point. His parents and sister attended the wedding.

Marriage License says he was 22 at the time of his marriage, living in Utica, and was a clerk.

Morris Protective Agency at Alroll Corp.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. In 1963 he was honorary chairman
of the Oswego County Heart Fund.
